Cut yourself some slack when you’re getting back into the swing of things after the holidays. It doesn’t matter if you gained a few pounds. Maybe you upped your caloric intake and indulged in lower-quality foods, meaning you’re likely retaining some water. A return to your typical habits will restore equilibrium. To be clear, compound exercises comprise large, multi-joint movements that train several muscles at the same time for every rep you do. That means you’ll burn more calories and increase your metabolic demand so you’ll continue to burn at a greater capacity well after your workouts are complete.

When humans start competing against machines, you know we have entered a Brave New World. But while Hollywood has made plenty of apocalyptic films with a similar plot, the competition between humans and machines isn’t always such a bad thing. In fact, this friendly competition can be used as a great training tool.

World Cup cross-country mountain bike racer, Vlad Dascalu, proves this point in a recent video edit from Red Bull. LGBTQ+ people are often considered a cohesive group, but sexual orientation and gender identity are different. Sexual orientation describes who a person prefers to be sexually intimate with. Gender identity, on the other hand, describes their sense of themselves as male, female, or another gender. Transgender and other gender diverse (TGD) people, whose gender identity is not aligned with their recorded sex at birth, can have any sexual orientation. (The same is true, of course, with cisgender people, whose gender identity aligns with their recorded sex at birth.)

What is sexual health?

Sexual health is a concept that goes beyond pregnancy and sexually transmitted infection prevention. The World Health Organization describes it as “the possibility of having pleasurable and safe sexual experiences, free of coercion, discrimination, and violence.” This is not assured for many people, particularly TGD people, who face higher risks for discrimination and interpersonal violence, including … Read the rest

Read the rest
