what reconciliation are you talking about? - there needs to be an investigation, yet you people want to reconcile when $3miliona is missing. What you people are saying is to forget about what has happened - we are sweeping the bad under the carpet - kovi aupito. If this was another rugby union there would be an investigation and prosecutions would be made. You say Sione Taumoepeau is the bad egg when $3miliona was missing under Sangsters watch, SAngster and his Board were illegal by following the process incorrectly, Sangster sold the Tonga 7's to a company owned by Pita Tanginoa without Tonga rugby knowing, Sangster tried to get the TRFU to sell Tonga rugby to Chris Racine with boys on the Board, Nili Latu and the players tried to lead a coup against the TRFU and Kutusi only won 3 games out 16 games in 3 seasons - and you say Sione Taumoepeau is the bad egg of Tonga rugby. Yet you people use words such as 'focus', 'betterment' - what I tell you is why change from Sangster because I find out the truth.

sbehind,a reconciliation won't harm anyone so hopefully it could happen.Sengi and Tu'i were supported by only Vunipola and Polutele and maybe afew more of the Ex-players.The majority were behind this new regime...koe 'uhinga ia 'oku fai atu ai e kole ketau fakataha mo kinautolu kae lava ha laka kimu'a.The ex-players are still very powerful in whatever way you look at it.Imagine having a New Committee with members from Tonga,NZ,Australia,USA,UK etc all coming together annually or biannually for a re-union and celebration of the Ikaletahi..koe maa'imoa 'a Tupou iv,kuo unga fonuaa.Lets look at ways of bringing all parties together for the betterment of Tongan Rugby once and for all.

A call for reconciliation is definitely required. That's what missing and what Government should have done. We can't agree on performance. Vunipola, Polutele and a few others involves in the push for Sengi & Tu'i. How many ex-players?

I agree with you that polictics has no place in rugby and that was a problem with Sengi & Tu'i.

If we look at the Rugby Committees of the top eight nations of world rugby...the senior positions are being held by ex-international players.Obviously committees are split up between the -Management and Technical, with management dealing with the management.administration, marketing etc whereas the technical section deal with the field operation, development of the game. The TRFU for so long had been dominated by senior civil servants since the days of the late Fatafehi Tu'ipelehake with few businessman who were responsible for growing the game.Because most of the ex-players hold no formal qualifications, none were considered good enough to hold any of the prominent roles in these committees hence my suggestion for their involvement. What happened lately was, most of these ex-players were not happy with Sengi and Tu'i Uata's involvement mainly because of political reasons so they all went and support the other committee. That's why the fuss was all about,,,so until we are all in the same boat, this in-fighting will continue and Tongan rugby will always play second fiddle to the Fijians and MS.

half of the responsibility in running rugby today is administration. the major components of rugby are: physical, tactical/technical, & administration which includes but not limited to legal, finance, management, markenting, etc, etc.

history has proven otherwise tongakihemate!! my point is, "not only rugby players understand rugby."

Tongan Rugby will continue to be in the sh*t until ALL the Ex-Ikaletahi and current IT sit down and draw up a Road map going forward and AGREE ON IT.Only rugby players would understand rugby. But i doubt it will ever happen. So until then,so long and good luck to Fiji and Samoa...enjoy it while it lasts.

The bad eggs of Tonga Rugby is every single member of the TONGA RUGBY UNION! Each and every single person has contributed to the current state of Tongan Rugby. You all should be ashamed of yourselves. Do any of you know what "MATE MA'A TONGA" even means? Why should we have to put up with nonsense?

Well, lets start with Sione Taumoepeau. Sione start with TRFU as a treasurer in 1986. He engineered his way through and became the 'Ikale Tahi Team Manager, National 7's and Ikale Tahi Head Coach, Selector, Vice Chairman, Life Member and lately the Chairman. Sione starts 1986 to 2006- 20 consecutive years where 5 rugby world cups took place (1987,1991,1995,1999,2003). I will give him 2 out of 10 based on the performance of the national team in those RWC. It was the best ever decisioned executed in TRFU when he was oust from the TRFU in 2006. RWC2007 was only happened when he is out. He came back 2008 and where is rugby now. He is an opportunist and he always thought he is right and the smartest operator around. There is more but RWC analysis is enough to hanged him. I will have a look at Fakahau Valu in my next letter.
